Aphids are in the Order Hemiptera, Family Aphididae. (Older texts may place them in the Order Homoptera, but the designation Homoptera no longer exists and has been dropped into the Order Hemiptera.)
Aphids are comparatively tiny insects, often associated with roses and other ornamental plants. They are soft-bodied and ship in 70% ethanol.
